Job Descriptions

Cluster Supervisor
Facilitates procedure through on-the-job training. They are responsible for developing the on-site management team at each pool. This includes oversight and reporting of all pool operations with a specific focus on scheduling and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Coordinator
The Coordinator directs the management of each club within a mutli-facility community by promoting consistency of the operations from one facility to another. The Coordinator is ultimately responsible for the management of each facility and is the community's main point of contact in dealing with staff issues, pool procedures and club policy. The Coordinator is issued a pager provided by NVPools and is on call 24 hours a day.

Manager
The Manager is responsible for the total operation of the facility, twenty-four hours a day, implementing all NVPools and respective swim club rules and policies. A Manager's end goal is to gain the respect of staff members and the patrons in conjunction with maintaining a successful season of operations. Consistent communication with the club’s pool committee and the NVPools office is of paramount importance. This communication ensures that all issues requiring attention are resolved in a timely manner. The Manager calls his/her pool on days off, unless leaving the Metropolitan area (in this case, an emergency telephone number must be left with the staff & NVPools).

Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager has the responsibility of maintaining the proper inventory levels of chemicals, equipment, and supplies at the facility. In addition, the Assistant Manager monitors the operation of the pool's filtration system, front gate procedures, and the rotation as established by the Head Guard. In the absence of the Manager, the Assistant Manager assumes ALL responsibilities of the Manager.

Head Lifeguard
The Head Lifeguard is responsible for the lifeguards' rotation schedule and work projects. This includes the daily opening/closing procedures, hourly procedures, and ad-hoc tasks listed on the "Job Board." In establishing the rotation schedule, the Head Lifeguard appoints each Lifeguard on duty to designated stations at specified times throughout their scheduled hours for the day. The Head Lifeguard is a key participant in the "rotation" schedule. The Head Lifeguard is also responsible for maintaining unity among the lifeguarding staff and shall serve as a liaison between the lifeguarding staff and the manager.

Senior Lifeguard
The status reached if a lifeguard logs 300 hours in a previous season and holds a current Pool Operators license. (See following for job description)

Lifeguard
A Lifeguard's primary responsibilities are to prevent accidents and to ensure the safety and control of all patrons. Lifeguards are also responsible for maintaining front gate control by enforcing the proper front gate procedures set forth by their respective club. In addition, Lifeguards are responsible for completing pre-established daily and hourly tasks, and a variety of ad-hoc tasks listed by the Head Lifeguard on the Job Board.

Payroll Substitutes
NVPools has a "payroll substitute" system that provides part-time work for lifeguards who are unable to commit to a job. Substitutes are to be utilized ONLY in emergency situations or prearranged vacation coverage.
